So some places I find nice clothing and will mention in this blog (but aren't limited to) are some common stores like Forever21, H&M, Charlotte Russe, etc, and also some online stores that also have very good deals (you'd be surprised how many great deals you can find online!). Thrift stores are also on the list! I know sometimes it can be uncomfortable to shop at thrift or recyclable clothing stores, but these places do have a lot of affordable good finds, so you should never be ashamed to be thrifty! (Not everyone is made out of money ;] ) I will also be doing some personal shopping and alterations in order to show how I would wear certain outfits and such.
With that, I am going to start with the first ever episode of Friends: The Pilot. Who can ever forget this episode, Friends fan or not? The one that begins with the coffee house scene, Ross torn from his failed marriage (the first one), Rachel bursting in with her wedding dress, who can forget? Although feeling down, the Friends were looking great!
Some of the clothing (of course) is not some we would wear today, but there are new modern ways we can transform these outfits. One that really stood out to me was Monica's. One thing you'll notice if you look close is she's wearing suspenders under her yellow dress shirt/blazer:
Suspenders definitely can be worn nicely with shorts or even high-rise pants, like Monica does. I wouldn't say suspenders are a common, everyday look, but if you want to be adventurous and try a new accessory to add some spark to your outfit, then try suspenders! They can be worn like Monica (above) over a T-shirt with a blazer over, or just over a T-shirt. It can also be worn with just a T-shirt or tank top, and I even think wearing it over a buttoned-up dress shirt can add a little something to it. Wearing jeans shorts with suspenders definitely is the way to go (below) for an urban, fresh look with a classic twist. Add a straw hat to that and you'll have yourself that cool-Neyo guy look. (I will update this post with pictures of this look later on). Suspenders are a reasonably cheap accessory that you can find at numerous urban clothing shops. You can find almost anything at a thrift store. Here are some cute suspenders found online:

I like these suspender's because the red and blue color combination. Although red and blue might be a big no-no, the color combo works on the suspenders along with the high-rise torn style jeans and cropped shirt. You are always welcome to try different color combinations with the T-shirt to add a little more energy to the overall outfit. The material and colors make these stretchy suspenders casual with a hint of classy. However, the price is a little high for just an accessory.
Price: $20.00

Okay, so for those who want to try suspenders out but don't want to spend too much on them, here are some cute, thin suspenders from Forever21. I like these because the straps a thinner, so the suspenders themselves are not too overwhelming. They also come with the high-rise denim skirt, which can be a good and a bad thing. Obviously, the suspenders a specific to this particular skirt, but that saves the trouble of looking for a cute skirt or shorts to pair it with. This is a great summer look that can be paired with a nice pair of sandals, hat and sun glasses for some fun in the sun. The skirt and suspenders are on sale right now so get them when you can!

Suspenders is an accessory that can make your outfit super casual while adding a little something different to it. Let's not spend too much time on it though! Next up is Phobe:
Alright, we can all admit Phoebe's fashion is a little bizarre, but there are ways around her odd dress styles. This, however, I thought was a good combination of textures and patterns for that earthy, (kind of hippie), look. It isn't too clear in the screencap but she is wearing a a fringed suede Western (Indian) style jacket (left). The "Indian" style clothing is definitely coming back in with moccasin shoes and boots, and Indian designed cardigans. The fringed sleeves are a little over the top but fringe is in! She is also wearing a jean-jacket vest over a mid-sleeve patterned button down dress, black-brown tights, and black leather boots. Yes, it sounds like an odd combination but, hey, its Phoebe.
Old Navy isn't exactly the most fashionable store out there, but we all have to admit, they have good deals! This denim vest is very Phoebe, with a vintage and down to earth look. This vest can be paired with a T-shirt, tank top, or even a floral, earthy dress under for the summer.
Price: $29.94
I think this dress is absolutely adorable. It is a sheer, floral dress with buttons on the top portion (placket). This dress can easily be paired with the vest (above) for a vintage, summer look.
Price: $27.80
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these boots. I think they are incredibly cute and spunky. Only thing I do not like is the price, but it is Steve Madden. There are also plenty of places you can find generic versions of these shoes. Remember: just because they are not name brand, don't be scared to buy them! Personally, I like buying generic brand boots but if you want quality over quantity, expect to pay more. (Please email me if you would like me to help you find generic versions of these boots!)These boots would be great with the dress and vest, and will definitely give you that Phoebe vintage, rocker, hippie (in a good way) look.
Price: $99.95
Now that we've got the cute hippie look down, let's move on to the arguably most fashionable character on the show: Rachel!
Okay, okay I know what you're thinking: why in the hell would anyone wear a wedding dress casually? Well, I didn't post it for everyone to frolic in a wedding dress, but white dresses can have very summery, fresh look and give princess-y feel.
This dress is precious. It is a sheer white, lace dress accessorized with a red polka dot belt. The belt is slimming and the dress gives such a fresh summer look. And the price for this dress: great! Pair it with a headband (which you can also find at Forever21) and you can have Rachel's wedding look, casual of course!
Price: $17.80
I love Rachel's blouse in this episode. It's very casual yet classy, and I especially love the tie at the bottom of the shirt. This tie style is becoming more and more popular with blouses today. A little pricey but it's not crazy expensive for a nice quality blouse.
Price: $39.00
Nothing says casual, fun, and cute like a cardigan! Cardigans are flooring their way back into everyday fashion today (I own like 10 different cardigans) and the reason why I love them so much is because it can go with any outfit, from dressy to casual. The different thing with Rachel's cardigan she is wearing is that it is oversized, which could be cute paired with jeans, shorts and a T-shirt, and even a dress. These green cardigan is adorable. I love the color because it has a great spring/summer look. Keep yourself warm while being trendy!
Price: $26.00
